This is a water feature, unfortunately the clay man I made to sit in it broke during bisque firing so it doesn't have an inhabitant. The glazes from the top downwards are: crackle green, tea dust, and iron brown with mother of pearl swirls.

A Bug's Life

The ladybug, leaves and flower were covered with masking tape while I sprayed the gunney sack parts with Oatmeal glaze. Ladybug, leaves and flower were then painted with underglaze and covered with Transparent glaze.

A Glazing Day

I had four pieces glazed today:

A cylinder in chun blue and mother of pearl (demo piece by the teacher),
Another cylinder in golden hare fur (inside) and olive green A (outside)
A keepsake box in texture blue, and
A jar in shino white (inside) and rust green (outside)

My choice of colours was dictated by which bins of glaze were deep enough to dip my pieces. I'd wanted to put celadon on the jar, but gave up stirring this glaze because it was so thick at the bottom.

The pieces should be ready next week.
